Extensive Industry Knowledge and Leadership

With membership in the NENA database committee and the NENA I2.5 committee, 911 Datamaster is working with other stakeholders to develop standards for the 911 industry.

Affiliations include:

NENA: NENA works with 9-1-1 professionals nationwide, public policy leaders, emergency services and telecommunications industry partners, like-minded public safety associations, and other stakeholder groups to develop and carry out critical programs and initiatives, to facilitate the creation of new 9-1-1 systems, and to establish industry leading standards, training, and certifications. 911 Datamaster currently is involved with:

  • Long Term Definition Working Group: Designs the overall context for NG9-1-1.
  • Access Provider Information Working Group: Outlines how information will be conveyed from access provider networks.
  • LVF/ECRF Working Group: Designs the technical and operational considerations for NG9-1-1 validation and routing functions.
  • NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model Working Group: Defines the content of GIS related components of NG9-1-1.
  • NG9-1-1 Demarc Working Group: Identifies the boundaries of responsibility between 9-1-1 Authorities and Service Providers.

Alliance for Telecommunication Industry Solutions (ATIS): ATIS prioritizes the industry's most pressing, technical and operational issues, and creates interoperable, implementable, end to end solutions -- standards when the industry needs them and where they need them.

  • Emergency Communication Interconnection Forum (ESIF): ESIF provides a venue to facilitate the identification and resolution of technical and/or operational issues related to the interconnection of emergency services networks with other networks (e.g., wireline, cable, satellite, Internet, etc.). ESIF develops standards and other documentation for the interconnection of emergency services networks.

911 Industry Alliance (9IA): 9IA plays an important role as the voice of industry companies on major public policy issues, and that the expertise of industry leaders can assist public policymakers and government emergency communications professionals as complex choices are made regarding advanced 9-1-1 alternatives in the years ahead.

E9-1-1 Institute: The mission of the Institute is to support the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus and assist it in promoting public education on E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues. The Institute serves as an information clearinghouse for policy makers at federal, state, and local levels, as well as for interested parties and the general public. 911 Datamaster currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute.
