SolaCom Technologies & 911 Datamaster Team to Provide Next Generation System

Will enable PSAPs to respond efficiently to calls from various networks

GATINEAU, QC and OVERLAND PARK, KS – November 14, 2008 – SolaCom Technologies and 911 Datamaster have announced they have entered into a comprehensive testing and integration agreement to provide Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) interoperability and compatibility.

SolaCom Technologies designs and manufactures NG9-1-1 equipment, including a NG selective router and NG PSAP call-taking equipment, which enables accurate E9-1-1 call routing and answering regardless of the network origin. 911 Datamaster, Inc. is a leading provider of 9-1-1 database management and ALI response software.

911 Datamaster will install the cutting-edge network solution including NG database (VDB/ERDB/LIS) and selective routing capabilities with Independent Emergency Services (IES). Following a successful ten-year partnership for traditional database software tools, IES selected 911 Datamaster and SolaCom to provide them with a NG SR network as part of their evolution plan. The new agreement will provide a logical, cost-effective migration plan for IES and their customers.

“911 Datamaster is one of the most respected 9-1-1 database providers in the country, with an impressive list of clients and installations to date, says Ray Vilis, Vice-President of SolaCom’s iTel Division. “We are very excited to be working with 911 Datamaster, and look forward to simplifying today’s diverse and complex 9-1-1 call networks.”

“SolaCom has captured an incredible amount of attention with their suite of NG9-1-1 Equipment. We have been quite impressed with not only their products, but their strong customer-focused mindset.” explains Eric J. Regnier, Vice-President of Business Development and Strategy. “SolaCom has quickly become a strong force for customers looking to have a quality partner as they migrate into NG.”

The NG selective router will provide 9-1-1 centers with a new price/performance/functionality standard. The system will allow PSAPs to expand their operations without a forced upgrade of existing equipment, facilitating a graceful path to migrate from current generation selective routers to the next generation. With NG selective routers, 9-1-1 centers will be able to add cost-effective SS7 interfaces, expand their selective router from 192 to over 4000 simultaneous calls, handle VoIP, use VoIP trunking, provide in-house voice conferencing, and more.

The ‘NG’ database consisting of VDB (Validation Database)/ERDB (Emergency Routing Database) will provide networks with the capability to route both static and nomadic VoIP 9-1-1 callers. This provides the technology for organizations to keep pace with ‘NG’ evolution by incorporating needed IP (V, SIP, 3rd Party) interfaces as required.
